| The best advice I can give you is, do not try and drive yourself, that is what the taxi's are for and they do it best. Having said that however, you need to know a few things eg. Negotiate the price outside of the taxi and find out from some of the locals what you should be paying (more or less). Once that is done you will enjoy your holiday and save some cash. |
Sharm el Sheikh Overview |
| Captured in the 1967 war, Sharm el Sheikh has become a low budget backpacker’s destination, and because of its proximity to Ras Umm Sidd and other reefs, is a welcome stopover for
divers. The wealthier area of Hadaba situated on the cliff overlooking the bay of Sharm el-Maya is the site of the swish upscale resorts, while cheaper hotels are set farther back. Excellent restaurants serve a
variety of cuisine and good food is the order of the day. |

Sharm el Sheikh Essentials |
Diving – The coral reefs of Ras Umm Sidd and Na’ama Bay and their spectacular shapes and colours offer divers enthralling sights.
Desert Safaris – Take a safari to the outlying districts and see Bedouins in their colourful tents, living as they have for centuries.
Camel and Horse riding – Catch a ride on the ‘Ship of the Desert’ and experience the fun of riding a camel, or take a horse for exploring around and about Sharm el Sheikh.
Na’ama Beach – The centre of activities for tourists and locals alike, swim, snorkel, dive, or wind-surf on this developed area.
Shopping – Buy jewellery, pottery, leather goods, books, rare and antique items, in fact just about anything your heart desires in Sharm el Sheikh’s many shops.
